This report provides an overview of information, compiled from relevant reports, on climate finance flows and financial support provided by developed country Parties to developing country Parties for formulating and implementing national adaptation plans. In developing the report, the Least Developed Countries Expert Group considered inputs and comments from the Adaptation Committee and the Standing Committee on Finance. A key finding from the analysis of relevant reports is that reporting on financial support provided specifically for national adaptation plans remains limited, as most sources of adaptation finance information do not provide disaggregated data specific to national adaptation plans. Despite processes designed to ensure equal eligibility being in place, access to multilateral funding for adaptation is uneven across Parties, as noted in paragraphs 2 and 10 of decision 8/CP.30 concerning access challenges. This report includes suggestions for strengthening future analyses of climate finance flows related to the national adaptation plan process.
