Abstract

The Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA), at its thirtysixth session, initiated its consideration of the implications of the implementation of decisions 2/CMP.7 to 5/CMP.7 on the previous decisions on methodological issues related to the Kyoto Protocol, including those relating to Articles 5, 7 and 8 of the Kyoto Protocol. The SBSTA invited Parties to submit, by 21 September 2012, their views on the implications of the implementation of decisions 2/CMP.7 to 5/CMP.7 on the previous decisions of the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol on methodological issues related to the Kyoto Protocol, including those relating to Articles 5, 7 and 8 of the Kyoto Protocol, and on how these implications should be addressed, and requested the secretariat to compile these submissions into a miscellaneous document. The secretariat has received four such submissions from Parties. In accordance with the procedure for miscellaneous documents, these submissions are attached and reproduced in the language in which they were received and without formal editing.
