Abstract

This document reports on the sixteenth meeting of the Least Developed Countries Expert Group (LEG), held in Bangkok, Thailand, from 24 to 26 September 2009. The report includes a summary of the status of preparation and implementation of national adaptation programmes of action (NAPAs), as provided by the secretariat of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) during the meeting, and a summary of discussions on an approach to the assessment of the least developed countries work programme and support needed to fully implement NAPAs. Discussions held between the LEG and the GEF and five of its agencies both on NAPA implementation in general and on the content of a training workshop on NAPA implementation planned for October 2009 are also reported in this document
