The submissions below are received in response to a call for interest to draft case studies to inform the development of a knowledge product by the Expert Group on Non-economic losses of the Warsaw International Mechanism for Loss and Damage Executive Committee. The knowledge product will spotlight the understanding of the policy and practical implications of impacts from non-economic losses. It will also present a spectrum of actions being implemented by countries and communities to respond to such losses in diverse contexts, including relevant lessons learned regarding the technical and institutional arrangements as well as enabling environments required for implementation. 

These submissions were called for in February 2024, and they contain information on approaches concerning loss of territory and associated impacts, loss of ecosystem services and environmental degradation, and loss of cultural heritage (tangible and intangible). They present diverse aspects of integrating key non-economic losses considerations in policies and planning, immediate or early response efforts, long-term resilience efforts for irreversible non-economic losses, and engaging those that are at the forefront of climate change.
