The second Africa Climate Summit (ACS-2) | 8–10 September 2025, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

The second Africa Climate Summit (ACS-2) is a continental platform that will bring together African leaders, policymakers, youth, civil society, private sector, women, communities and global partners to accelerate solutions for a resilient and green future.

Under the theme “Accelerating Global Climate Solutions: Financing for Africa’s Resilient and Green Development”, the Summit will spotlight two strategic pillars: showcasing Africa-led Climate Solutions and unlocking climate finance. The key thematic areas include nature-based solutions, renewable energy, sustainable food systems, e-mobility, green cities, climate finance and green investment
and indigenous knowledge.

The ACS2 is hosted by the Government of Ethiopia (GoE) in collaboration with the AUC. Through ACS2, they committed to advancing Africa’s climate agenda and sustainable development priorities and positioning Africa a global climate leader.

At ACS2, climate leaders will champion a call for a reform of global financing systems, and accelerate global climate solutions and financing for climate adaptation, mitigation, and green growth. The summit also seeks to empower communities, especially youth and indigenous groups—while fostering fair partnerships and multilateral cooperation. ACS-2 aims to change the narrative of Africa as not only as a frontline region of climate impacts, but as a powerhouse of global climate solutions.
ACS-2 will culminate in the Addis Ababa Declaration on Climate Change, Producing a Flagship Report and presenting a unified African position ahead of COP30 and beyond.
