(b) information to facilitate clarity, transparency and understanding of nationally determined contributions, as specified in paragraph 28; and

(c) accounting for Parties' nationally determined contributions, as specified in paragraph 31

 

APA 1-6 Resumed first session, 4 - 9 September 2018

The resumed first session of the APA takes place on 4 -9 September in Bangkok, Thailand.

The resumed first session of the APA takes place on 30 April -10 May at the WCCB in Bonn, Germany.

APA 1-4 Resumed first session, 6 - 17 November 2017
Round table:

The secretariat was requested to organize, under the guidance of the APA Co-Chairs, a round table, to be held on

Monday, 6 November 2017, 14:00-18:00 in Chamber Hall.

The round table should be facilitated by the persons who will be designated to facilitate discussions at APA 1.4. The round table should also provide an open and constructive environment to further advance the work under the three sub-items under this agenda item and take into consideration the submissions and the non-paper referred to in paragraph 11(b) of the APA conclusions.

Non-Paper:

The persons who facilitated discussions under this agenda item at APA 1.3, with the support of the secretariat, have been requested to prepare, by 15 October 2017, a non-paper capturing convergence, divergence and options, where appropriate, based on Parties’ views expressed in the submissions referred to in paragraph 11(a) of the APA conclusions, without omitting, reinterpreting or prejudging Parties’ views.

APA 1-3 Resumed first session, 8 - 18 May 2017

At the resumed first session, Parties shared views on the general understanding and expectations of the work, followed by detailed discussions under each sub-item.  The views expressed by Parties during this discussion were captured in an  informal note (336 kB)  by the co-facilitators of APA item 3 Ms. Gertraud Wollansky (Austria) and Mr Sin Liang Cheah (Singapore)

Prior to the resumed first session of the APA, the secretariat organized under the guidance of the APA Co-Chairs and chaired by the co-facilitators of APA item 3 a round table to further advance the work under this agenda item. The APA agreed that the pre-sessional round table helped in facilitating a better understanding of, and clarifying Parties' views on APA item 3 and its three sub-items and further provide useful inputs to the negotiations under the APA.

To further advance the work under this agenda item, the APA in its conclusions:

Submissions:

Taking into consideration the content of the informal note prepared by the co-facilitators on this item, invited Parties to make, by 15 September 2017, focused submissions, including on the elements and issues outlined in that note and on how they would be reflected in the guidance, without prejudice to further work under this agenda item.
Parties are invited to submit their submissions on APA item 3 through the UNFCCC submission portal.

APA 1-2 Resumed first session, 7 - 14 November 2016

At the resumed first session, Parties shared views on the general understanding and expectations of the work, followed by detailed discussions under each sub-item.  A summary of these discussions was captured by the co-facilitators in an informal note.
Parties were invited to submit, by 1 April 2017, their views on this item. As mandated, the compiled submissions received on APA item 3 can be found here.
The APA also requested the secretariat to organize, under guidance of the APA Co-Chairs, a round table to further advance the work under this agenda item.
