Future Ours exhibition

Future Ours exhibition

Future Ours, an art exhibition about the future of our planet, was launched in New York City at the United Nations Headquarters and at bus stops throughout the city on 20 September.   Twenty- one artists and collectives from around the world were invited to respond to the UN Summit of the Future and reimagine how we can safeguard our common planet.

The art installations, each one a different creative expression from the next, serve to raise awareness, challenge norms, and inspire connection and empathy. The exhibition was organized by Art Charter for Climate Action founding Steering Committee member, ART 2030, and Kunsthal Charlottenborg in partnership with JCDecaux.

“While our future is marked by pressing environmental and societal emergencies, we stand at an opportune moment for transformative change,” said Luise Faurschou, founder and CEO of ART 2030. “From the UN Headquarters to public spaces, these artworks offer a diversity of moments for reflection and inspiration, to foster dialogue and action in a moment when it is needed most.”

Art and culture have always contributed to encouraging collective imagination and creating pathways for change that touch every aspect of our society. The Art Charter for Climate Action (ACCA) unites a wide range of visual arts sector stakeholders, including individual artists to major museums, commercial entities to not-for-profit organizations, putting artists at the centre of climate action. Members gain access to a global platform for creative collaboration and expression, while they strive to reduce the negative environmental impact of developing, producing, transporting, and exhibiting visual art.
