LT-LEDS Regional Capacity Building Workshop for Asia and the Pacific

The regional collaboration Centre for Asia and the Pacific will co-host a Long-Term Low greenhouse gas Emission Development Strategies (LT-LEDS) capacity-building workshop during Asia-Pacific Climate Week 2023.  This work in led in collaboration with the NDC Partnership and UNDP's Climate Promise with technical support from 2050 Pathways and IRENA.

The regional workshop aims to address the specific capacity needs of the Asia and the Pacific countries in LT-LEDS development and implementation and equip its participants with the necessary knowledge, skills, and networks to effectively develop, implement, and monitor LT-LEDS.

Specifically, in the unique Asia and the Pacific region's circumstances, the objectives are to: 

  1. Increase participants' knowledge and comprehension of LT-LEDS and their significance in achieving long-term climate and development goals. 
  2. Build the capacity of participants in developing and implementing LT-LEDS, including skills in policy integration, and stakeholder engagement. 
  3. Encourage collaboration and networking among countries, organizations and stakeholders involved in LT-LEDS processes, promoting knowledge sharing and the identification of challenges, opportunities, and potential areas of support needed for LT-LEDS implementation.
