29 July 2020 | 14:00 – 15:15 CEST | Virtual event
In this online event, the Technology Executive Committee will launch three publications related to its areas of work, aimed to support countries in implementing the Paris Agreement:
The topics of the publications are well interlinked. TEC Brief #13 explores the starting point of the climate technology journey, that is the identification and prioritization of the best suited climate technologies for countries. The implementation of the identified technologies for climate change mitigation and adaptation is the next step. How to accelerate and scale up the implementation of such technologies through innovative approaches is elaborated in the second publication of the TEC. The third publication takes a sector specific perspective and showcases country examples of implemented adaptation climate technologies in coastal zones.
Climate technology experts involved in these works will be presenting the main findings of the documents and explain their importance for the development and transfer of climate technologies and for achieving the goals of the Paris Agreement.
Created in 2010, the Technology Executive Committee (TEC) is the policy arm of the Technology Mechanism. It focuses on identifying policies that can accelerate the development and transfer of low-emission and climate resilient technologies. With the Technology Mechanism serving the Paris Agreement, the TEC plays a key role in helping countries to identify climate technology policies, guided by the technology framework, to achieve the Agreement’s objectives.
