TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE NEEDS

Floods

Maintenance of gutters

Land and forest degradation

Agricultural mechanization and access to machines

Support needed in strengthening the existing agricultural mechanization policy by providing farmers with machines specifically adapted to the characteristics of the soils in each zone. Also make the conditions for accessing these machines more flexible to facilitate their use by producers.

Development of floodplain areas and agro-meteorological information

Need for promoting the development of floodplain areas through hydro-agricultural projects. This includes implementing agro-meteorological warning systems to provide reliable information on rainy season forecasts to farmers.

Consultation and awareness framework

for consultation and awareness-raising between "rainmakers" (traditional weather forecasters) and administrative authorities. This helps prevent social conflicts that may arise due to misunderstandings between local populations and the attribution of responsibility for climate-related events.

Agricultural Credit and Priority Action Programs

Setting up programs to facilitate access to agricultural credit to ensure timely financing of farmers' activities. Also help in strategies to prioritize climate change issues within action programs to address the specific challenges faced by farmers.

Agroforestry studies

Research studies in a perspective of participatory approach, the possibilities of popularizing agroforestry systems based on fruit species in order to allow producers to be able to limit the reduction of their income due to the drop in yield of food crops induced by climate change

Research on rural exodus

To recognize the relationship between climate change and agricultural exit strategies, such as migration and rural exodus, as an avenue for further research.
