Abstract

This brochure details the Least Developed Countries (LDC) Work Programme under the UNFCCC, which aims to enhance the adaptive capacity of LDCs to climate variability and its adverse effects through National Adaptation Programmes of Action (NAPAs). It outlines the NAPA process, which addresses urgent adaptation needs by synthesizing available information and engaging in stakeholder consultations to identify and prioritize potential adaptation activities. The brochure explains the steps involved, including establishing multidisciplinary teams, conducting vulnerability assessments, and developing short project profiles. Additionally, it describes how, after a NAPA is submitted to the UNFCCC, the Global Environment Facility assists LDCs in project development and execution
