Technical reports on doubling adaptation finance now available
Background
The Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Paris Agreement (CMA), by decision 1/CMA.4, para 42, requested the Standing Committee on Finance (SCF) to prepare a report on the doubling of adaptation finance, in line with para 18, decision 1/CMA.3 for consideration by the CMA 5.
By decision 1/CMA.3, para 18, urged the developed country Parties to at least double their collective provision of climate finance for adaptation to developing country Parties from 2019 levels by 2025, in the context of achieving a balance between mitigation and adaptation in the provision of scaled-up financial resources, recalling Article 9, paragraph 4, of the Paris Agreement.
The SCF, a constituted body under the Convention, assists the Conference of the Parties (COP) and CMA on climate finance matters. Further details can be viewed here.
