Background

This will be a capability building session to highlight the importance of community led climate action tackling climate change. Youth will be engaged with youth community leaders, and be inspired to understand the role and importance of amplifying community-led climate action. Participants will understand the role of community led engagement to allow youth to take informed action, advocate for stronger climate policies, and network with linked-minded peers to ignite meaningful discussion and take action for a more sustainable and resilient future for all.

The session will take place as a ‘Human Library '' format, which will provide a platform for youth leaders in Asia to share more on their community-led initiatives, complemented with small group discussions. Participants will be given an opportunity to engage with different and diverse examples of community led action, and followed by a networking session to discuss key takeaways from the discussion and identify calls to action in the community.

This innovative workshop will bring together a diverse group of individuals / "human books," who will share their lived experiences and perspectives on various social issues. By engaging in meaningful conversations with the "human books," attendees will gain deeper appreciation on the importance of community led action in driving change.
