YOUNGO, Care About Climate and Asian Development Bank
Background
This capability building session aimed to highlight the important role of community-led climate action for tackling climate change. By bringing together youth and young community leaders, it aimed to build an understanding of how community-led action can allow youth to take informed action, advocate for stronger climate policies, and network with linked-minded peers to ignite meaningful discussion and take action for a more sustainable and resilient future for all.
The session took place as a "Human Library'' format, which provided a platform for youth leaders across Asia to share more on their community-led initiatives, complemented with small group discussions. Participants were given an opportunity to engage with different and diverse examples of community-led action. This was followed by a networking session to discuss key takeaways from the discussion and identify calls to action in the community.
This innovative workshop brought together a diverse group of individuals / "human books" who shared their lived experiences and perspectives on various social issues. By engaging in meaningful conversations with the "human books," attendees gained deeper appreciation for the importance of community-led action in driving change.
Objectives

Each participant can include their story on the chart with the help of one of the following guiding questions (feel free to use imagery, poems, flowchart, story bubbles, collage etc) :
- What was the turning point in your life which pivoted you to climate action?
- Which climate impacts have hit home and led you to climate ?
