Technical session for implementing workplan activities of the response measures forum

Pursuant to the workplan of the response measure forum and its KCI contained in decision 4/CP.25, 4/CMP.15 and 4/CMA.2, the response measures forum will implement the following workplan activities at the 57th sessions of the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice and the Subsidiary Body for Implementation:

  • Activity 5 – Build awareness and understanding of Parties and other stakeholders to assess the economic impacts of potential new industries and businesses resulting from the implementation of response measures with a view to maximizing the positive and minimizing the negative impacts of the implementation of response measures;
  • Activity 11 – Facilitate, exchange and share experience and best practices in the assessment of the environmental, social and economic co-benefits of climate change policies and actions informed by the best available science, including the use of existing tools and methodologies.

The technical session will provide a non-negotiation space for Parties, observers and experts to exchange and share experience and best practices in relation to the above-mentioned workplan activities with a view to advancing their implementation. The session will also be informed by the work of the Katowice Committee of Impacts (the KCI).
