The 9th International Conference on Urban Climate is opening today in Toulouse, France, and will last until 24 July. The meeting is co-organized by Meteo France, le Centre National de Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), the American Meteorological Society (AMS), the International Association for Urban Climate (IAUC) and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).  The aims of this conference are to provide an international forum where the world’s urban climatologists can discuss modern developments in research, and the application of climatic knowledge to the design of better cities.
