The secretariat completed its third mission to Santiago, Chile in preparations for COP 25.
Both substantive and procedural matters were discussed.
Owing to the current programme for the Heads of State and Government, the secretariat has deemed prudent to organize the pre-sessional meeting as follows:
- 25-26 November: LDCs preparatory meetings
- 27-28 November: African Group preparatory meetings and SIDS preparatory meetings
- 29-30 November: G-77 & China preparatory meetings

In preparations for COP 25, CMP 15 and CMA 2, the secretariat completed its third mission to Santiago, Chile.
The mission took place from 29-31 July 2019, where both substantive and procedural matters were discussed.
Owing to the Government of Chile's organization of events for Heads of State and Government (HoS/G) on Sunday, 1 December 2019, the dates of the preparatory meetings of groups have been advanced to allow all delegations to be able to support their HoS/G.
The dates of the specific preparatory meetings are as follows:
- 25 -26 November: Least developed countries
- 27 – 28 November: Small island developing States
- 27 – 28 November: African Group
- 29 – 30 November: Group of 77 and China
