Australia approves AUS$1 billion solar farm

Australia’s biggest solar farm has been given approval and developers are hoping to begin construction on the AUS$1 billion project in 2016. The solar farm is planned to be built in Queensland west of Brisbane at a 200-hectare site at Bulli Creek. The project developer, Solar Choice, said that by the time the application is complete in eight to 10 years it will be able to generate 2 gigawatts of electricity, which is enough to power around 550,000 homes.
