Algeria will increase the production capacity of its projects in renewable energy to reach 25,000 MW instead of the current 12,000 MW, announced Algerian Energy Minister Youcef Yousfi on 22 January in Algiers. Minister Yousfi added that Algeria was able to succeed in producing more than a third of the country's electricity needs from renewable sources by 2030.
