Overview

Organized under the banner of #Together4Transparency by the UNFCCC secretariat in partnership with YOUNGO, the “Transparency capacity-building session for Youth” will feature a scene-setting presentation by YOUNGO to be followed by thematic presentations delivered by UNFCCC, to be followed by a Q&A session. The presentations will provide an introduction to transparency, including an overview of the opportunities for young professionals; an overview of the milestones achieved in the current arrangements under the Convention and Kyoto Protocol (MRV system); a description of the main the changes that the ETF will introduce under the Paris Agreement and an outline of the linkages between the ETF and other key processes (e.g., NDCs, GST, compliance); and an overview of the training programme for expert reviewers available as well as efforts from the secretariat to support to developing countries. Finally, they will touch upon the Together4Transparency initiative, including the linkages between Party and non-Party stakeholders.
