The launch of the Five-Year Vision for 2026-2030 at COP 30 marked a new phase for the Global Climate Action Agenda and the Marrakech Partnership for Global Climate Action – one focused on turning ambition into implementation. Anchored in the outcomes of the first Global Stocktake (GST), more than 400 existing initiatives were organized under six thematic Axes, with over 120 Plans to Accelerate Solutions (PAS) launched as practical, time-bound implementation roadmaps to mobilize coordinated action.
Since COP 30, stakeholders from across the Marrakech Partnership have been working together to advance implementation efforts across the six Axes. Through a series of virtual and in-person engagements, including discussions held during UNFCCC Climate Week 3 in Yeosu, the Zero Waste Forum in Istanbul and UNFCCC 64th Sessions of the Subsidiary Bodies (SB64), initiatives have identified priority actions, emerging partnerships, implementation barriers, and opportunities to scale impact ahead of COP 31. The SB 64 in Bonn therefore provides a key intersessional checkpoint to take stock of this progress and help shape the road ahead to Antalya.
In this context, the Climate High-Level Champions and the COP 30 and 31 Presidencies (TBC) will convene a public event “Proof of Progress on the Global Climate Action Agenda”, which will provide an opportunity to share 2026 plans to elevate high-impact opportunities across six Axes, 2026 from the Climate High-Level Champions to Parties and non-Party stakeholders, take stock of progress across the six Axes of the Global Climate Action Agenda, and engage Parties and non-Party stakeholders in implementation-focused discussions ahead of COP 31, including on how this work can further support the broader UNFCCC process. The event will:
- Showcase progress and concrete achievements across the six Axes of the Global Climate Action Agenda, including through the Plans to Accelerate Solutions (PAS);
- Launch the Work Programme for 2026 for the Champions and the Marrakech Partnership;
- Highlight the contribution of the Global Climate Action Agenda and wider climate action in supporting the implementation of UNFCCC outcomes and advancing momentum towards COP 31;
- Provide a platform for direct engagement between Parties and non-Party stakeholders on implementation priorities, partnerships, and opportunities for accelerated action;
- Shape a coherent collective narrative for the Action Agenda for COP 31 around implementation and acceleration under the Five-Year Vision.
