Objective

The ILO Just Transition Pavilion at COP 29 places significant importance on the role of education and skills development on Just Transitions in various sectors, particularly for the youth. This event, organized by the Katowice Committee of Experts on the Impacts of the Implementation of Response Measures (KCI), will explore the critical role of educational programs and future-resilient skills development in empowering the youth in leading a green and Just Transition.

Format of the event

The event will take on a panel discussion format with various experts sharing insights on how skills development for the youth can drive Just Transitions. Experts and participants will also discuss barriers that countries face in integrating future-resilient education approaches in national frameworks, and best practices and case studies available. The discussions will also include the role of various stakeholders in supporting the transformation of education systems.
