Overview

As part of Climate Week 4 in Baku, Azerbaijan, the UN Climate Change secretariat will convene the next edition of the Regional Dialogue on Carbon Pricing (REDiCAP), focusing on the role of carbon pricing and carbon markets in supporting the cooperative implementation of nationally determined contributions (NDCs).

The REDiCAP, entitled “Carbon Pricing and Carbon Markets for Cooperative Implementation of NDCs”, is convened as part of the cooperation project between the UNFCCC secretariat and the Ministry of Finance and Economy of the Republic of Korea.

The dialogue will bring together governments, international organizations and other stakeholders to exchange experiences and perspectives on domestic carbon pricing instruments and international carbon market cooperation under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.

The event will explore how domestic policy frameworks and international carbon market cooperation can complement each other in mobilizing finance, supporting higher ambition and facilitating NDC implementation.
