Background

The UNFCCC Secretariat, with the contribution of the Italian Ministry of Ecological Transition, has set up the Youth4Capacity initiative to contribute to building the capacities of young people on climate change, while engaging youth as capacity-builders in the process.

Objectives

The session seeks to showcase the stories of young people in the climate action landscape that have transitioned from being capacity-recipients to being capacity-builders. Through an active exchange of knowledge, experiences, and innovations that young climate leaders have encountered along their journeys, the event seeks to foster a space for mutual learning and dialogue. Participants would gain insights on the role of young people and their capacities in delivering ambitious climate action.  The session seeks to inspire and empower youth to take a leading role in capacity-building efforts, as the capacity-builders that they are!
