Background

This Implementation Lab will highlight the opportunity of the new NDCs as vehicles for setting ambitious targets and policies to drive climate ambition through a just
clean energy transition. It will show how policies can accelerate the transition away from fossil fuels, supporting investment in clean energy, in particular renewables,
energy efficiency and electrification.

Suggested Outcomes

• Deliver key signals from businesses, investors and initiatives to governments on the policies and regulations to drive fossil fuel phaseout and clean energy (3x RES and 2xEE) in new NDCs and across government policy. Share lessons learnt about the importance of business, government and investors working together to develop policies in support of the energy transition.
• Agree on which robust policies and regulations will be critical to drive phase out of fossil fuels and private investment in clean energy (Renewables and Energy Efficiency).
• Propose a set of internal processes and external steps companies and other NSAs can take to turn climate commitments into climate advocacy actions to reinforce the ambition loop.
