Background and Objective
The Standing Committee on Finance (SCF) plays a central role in supporting the COP in delivering on its climate finance agenda by assisting in improving coherence and coordination in the delivery of climate finance, mobilization of financial resources, and measurement, reporting, and verification of support provided to developing countries.
This side event will present an overview of the key activities of the SCF in 2025, including highlights from its 2025 Forum on Accelerating climate action and resilience through financing for sustainable food systems and agriculture, and launching of the work related to the new collective quantified goal on climate finance. It will also offer a preview of the Committee’s planned work for 2026 and its broader engagement across the UNFCCC process.
