Background

2025 is a pivotal year in the global ambition cycle: countries are submitting the next round of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC 3.0), aligned with the 1.5°C goal under the Paris Agreement. Building on the outcomes of the Global Stocktake (COP28), Chile is presenting its updated NDC for 2025–2035, raising ambition across mitigation, adaptation and means of implementation and informed by the latest IPCC findings. This high-level webinar will officially present Chile’s NDC 3.0 and foster a multisectoral dialogue on pathways to implementation.

Objectives

Organized by the Ministry of the Environment of Chile (MMA); UN Climate Change secretariat Regional Collaboration Centre (RCC) Latin America; NDC Partnership (NDCP) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile (MINREL), this webinar has the following objectives:

  • Officially present Chile’s updated 2025–2035 NDC (NDC 3.0) to national and international audiences.
  • Highlight Chile’s political commitment and alignment with the Paris Agreement and the Global Stocktake outcomes.
  • Facilitate dialogue on opportunities and challenges for implementation across government, civil society, private sector and academia.
  • Encourage participation of non-state actors in supporting NDC implementation.
