Background

Approaching COP27 and the second technical dialogue of the Global Stocktake (GST), parties and non-parties to the UNFCCC embrace a collective assessment of the world’s progress achieving the purpose of the Paris Agreement. Findings on how much progress the world has made and critical areas to advance will set the agenda for climate action in the coming years.

At this online event, researchers from six countries will share findings on needs and gaps that need to be urgently addressed to advance in adaptation planning, and especially regarding the assessment of climate impacts, vulnerabilities and risks. The assessment of vulnerabilities, risks and impacts is the beginning of the national adaptation policy cycle, and it is key to assessing collective progress on the Global Adaptation Goal at the GST.

Objectives
