Climate Week 3 – Yeosu, Republic of Korea

Monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) systems are essential for tracking progress on adaptation, improving the effectiveness of policies and actions, and supporting evidence-based decision-making. Effective MEL systems enable countries to assess adaptation outcomes, inform adaptive management, and guide investments that strengthen resilience to climate change.

Recognizing the importance of strengthening monitoring and evaluation of adaptation, the AC has undertaken a series of activities to support Parties in developing and operationalizing MEL systems.

This event at Climate Week 1 in Yeosu provides an opportunity to bring together policymakers, practitioners, and experts to exchange experiences and lessons learned on designing and implementing MEL systems that inform adaptation policy, investment and adaptive management. The event will also contribute to ongoing efforts under the UAE Framework for Global Climate Resilience, including the development and application of indicators under the global goal on adaptation (GGA).
