Prepared in response to the mandate at CMA 7 (FCCC/PA/CMA/2025/19, para. 29), this information note consolidates practices that have proven effective in past sessions to guide the UNFCCC process. It covers informal stocktakes and communication, approaches for decision-making, plenary management, support by the secretariat, and the roles of the Bureau, the Presidency, Presiding Officers and Parties. It does not create new rules or prescribe a single approach; rather, the practices may be adapted to the circumstances of the session in question.
