This report summarizes the progress of the Consultative Group of Experts in implementing its workplan for 2026 and work programme for 2026–2029, including major achievements, lessons learned and challenges. It covers the proceedings and outcomes of its two regular meetings in 2026, at which the Group developed that workplan and work programme and reviewed progress in their implementation respectively. In 2026, the Group focused its work, in providing transparency-related support to developing country Parties, on addressing regional capacity-building needs through provision of targeted training and technical support, developing technical materials aimed at addressing practical challenges in priority areas related to measurement, reporting and verification and implementation of the enhanced transparency framework under the Paris Agreement, and continuing its assessment of capacity-building gaps and needs related to implementing the enhanced transparency framework.
