Introduction

A Cooperative Climate Initiative (CCI) is a voluntary body jointly organized by multiple entities (including non-State actors or non-State actors with national governmental actors) working towards achieving a clearly defined climate-related goal aligned with the goals of the Paris Agreement shared by the entities within the CCI.

Common eligibility criteria: 

In order to ensure consistency and alignment with the scope of NAZCA and the ambition of the Paris Agreement, a CCI registered on NAZCA must:

(a) Demonstrate a clearly stated climate-related goal aligned with the Paris Agreement, where such a goal is jointly endorsed, shared and/or upheld by the entities constituting the CCI;

(b) Demonstrate its capacity to monitor and publicly report its progress toward the stated climate-related goal; and 1 See section II. E. Additional eligibility criteria for an individual entity operating as a voluntary initiative.

(c) Demonstrate an operational structure (e.g., secretariat, focal point, etc.) that ensures public communication and reporting.

Those interested in registering their Cooperative Climate Initiative (CCI) to NAZCA are invited to send an expression of interest through submitting the expression of interest form.

The team will conduct an initial screening of the information received to assess alignment with the scope of CCI tracking, including the definition and eligibility criteria, and may contact you for further details if the submission aligns with the eligibility for registration.
