The UN Climate Change secretariat is in a unique, politically independent position, that offers a forum for all to come together and address the greatest challenge of this generation. We appreciate the support from party and non-party stakeholders in voluntary contributions to achieve a common goal or undertake a specific task, in support of achieving the aims of the Paris Agreement.

We see voluntary contribution as a critical component of achieving our strategic objectives and addressing systemic challenges brought upon by climate change. The support to the Convention, the Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement is crucial for the secretariat to be able to undertake its mandated activities, and in addressing climate change and its negative impacts on humanity and ecosystems. The voluntary financial or in-kind contributions increases the secretariat’s capacity and resources to to support and implement the Paris Agreement goals.
