The UNFCCC Technology Executive Committee AI for Climate Action Forum 2026 brings together policymakers, climate technology experts, researchers, innovators, development partners and practitioners to explore how AI can accelerate climate action in developing countries.

AI for Climate Action Forum

Hosted by the Technology Executive Committee (TEC) under the UN Climate Change Technology Mechanism Initiative on AI for Climate Action, the Forum provides a unique platform for dialogue between governments, international organizations, academia, industry and civil society.

Across two days of discussions, interactive sessions and networking, participants will exchange experiences, showcase practical AI applications and explore how responsible AI can support climate change adaptation and mitigation while remaining locally relevant, inclusive and impactful.

Announcement of the UNFCCC Technology Mechanism AI for Climate Action Award 2026 Winner

The finalists of the AI for Climate Action Award 2026 will present their solutions and the winner will be announced during the Forum. The Award recognizes innovative AI-powered solutions that support climate change adaptation and mitigation in least developed countries (LDCs) and small island developing States (SIDS). It celebrates ideas and technologies with strong potential for local impact while encouraging collaboration, knowledge exchange and wider adoption across regions.

About AI for Climate Action

AI for Climate Action (AICA) is an initiative of the United Nations Climate Change Technology Mechanism. The initiative explores the role of AI as a powerful technological tool for advancing and scaling up transformative climate solutions for mitigation and adaptation action in developing countries with a focus on LDCs and SIDS. The Forum serves as a platform for knowledge exchange, capacity-building and international cooperation, bringing together stakeholders committed to advancing AI for Climate Action and supporting locally driven innovation worldwide.

The UNFCCC Technology Executive Committee AI for Climate Action Forum 2026 is organized by the Technology Executive Committee (TEC) in partnership with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the Royal Government of Cambodia.

KOICA is the official development cooperation agency of the Republic of Korea. It supports sustainable development, capacity-building and international cooperation in developing countries, including work related to climate action and digital innovation.

The Royal Government of Cambodia supports the Forum as the host-country partner, helping connect international exchange on AI and climate action with national priorities and locally driven implementation.
