Monday, 8 June 2026 | 13:30-14:45 | Room Bonn, World Conference Centre

Background
The Technology Mechanism serves the UNFCCC and the Paris Agreement through a policy body, the Technology Executive Committee (TEC), and an implementation body, the Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN) to facilitate enhanced action on the development and transfer of climate change adaptation and mitigation technologies. The TEC and the CTCN deliver on their mandates with the support of governments, UN partners, climate funds, and the private sector, among others. This side event showcases effective partnership models of the TEC and the CTCN and provides practical insights from the work of the Technology Mechanism on accelerating the deployment of climate technologies.

Objectives:
Showcase how existing partnerships contribute to the implementation of the Joint Work Programme of the Technology Mechanism (2023-2027) and mandates of the TEC and the CTCN under the Convention and the Paris Agreement

Explore concrete opportunities for partnerships to scale up the deployment of climate technologies through the Technology Mechanism

Format
The event will demonstrate how a variety of partners support the work of the TEC and CTCN and feature a moderated panel discussion on objectives and achievements of those partnerships, including strategic insights from partnership experiences, enabling factors and opportunities to further enhance impact.
