In this joint session, the TEC and CTCN will share exciting updates and news from the work of the Technology Mechanism, in particular efforts related to supporting national systems of innovation.
Background
The Technology Mechanism will launch the initiative Artificial Intelligence for Climate Action, to explore the potential role of AI in advancing & scaling up transformative solutions. The TEC will also launch its new publication on success stories in setting up NSI in countries. The CTCN will introduce how it uses national system of innovation as enabler across its work on five transformative areas.
The event will offer concrete lessons learned and good practices from case studies on the steps taken to develop or strengthen specific parts of national systems of innovation across different innovation system perspectives (national/sector/technology-focused) for potential replication.
The TEC in 2023 has finalized its work on “Good practices and lessons learned on the setup and implementation of National Systems of Innovation”. At the June session, the TEC will launch the “Summary for Policymakers,” of this document, which provides lessons learned and good practices on the set-up and implementation of NSIs for developing country policymakers looking to strengthen their NSI in the context of climate action.
Objectives
This event aims to:

3- Show case studies and lessons learned on setting up NSI
4- Understand how country can benefit from establishing NSI
