Second thematic dialogue on enabling environments for and barriers to technology development and transfer

During the fourth meeting of the Technology Executive Committee (TEC) a thematic dialogue on enabling environments for and barriers to technology development and transfer was held on 6 September 2012 (14.00-18.00 local Bangkok time). This dialogue was a follow up to the thematic dialogue held at the third meeting of the TEC and focused on the gaps identified at the first thematic dialogue.

The thematic dialogue aimed to highlight issues surrounding the topic of enabling environments and barriers to technology development and transfer. It also aimed to identify challenges and opportunities, good practices and lessons learned from creating viable enabling environments and identify possible follow up actions.

The dialogue was structured around three sessions:

1. Presentations on the topic of enabling environments and barriers to technology development and transfer.

2. Panel discussion with representatives from relevant organizations.

3. General discussion with observers present at the meeting.
