Momentum for Change is an initiative spearheaded by the UN Climate Change secretariat to shine a
light on the enormous groundswell of activities underway across the globe that are moving the world
toward a highly resilient, low-carbon future. Momentum for Change recognizes innovative and
transformative solutions that address both climate change and wider economic, social and
We call these solutions Lighthouse Activities.
They're some of the most practical, scalable and replicable examples of what people,
businesses, governments and industries are doing to tackle climate change.

The 2015 Call for Applications is Now Closed
The call for applications for the 2015 Momentum for Change Awards is now closed. We thank all
applicants for taking the time to submit a project!
Winning activities will be announced in November 2015 and celebrated at the UN Climate Change
Conference in Paris, France, in December 2015.
The Momentum for Change awards are part of wider efforts to mobilize action and ambition as
governments work toward adopting a new universal climate agreement this year. Winning projects
highlight some of the most innovative, scalable and replicable examples of what people are doing to
address climate change, in the hopes of inspiring others to do the same.
The call for applications for the 2016 Momentum for Change Awards will open early next year.
