Summary outcome
The AC took note of the information contained in the document prepared for the meeting and agreed to draw from it, as appropriate, in the discussion of subsequent agenda items and the implementation of activities contained in its workplan.

Summary outcome
The AC considered and subsequently revised the draft recommendations contained in the document.
It agreed to request the Co-Chairs and interested AC members, with the assistance of the secretariat, to revise the document taking into account the discussions at AC11 and to share it well ahead of AC12.
The AC agreed to finalize the recommendations at AC12 for forwarding to the CMA for its consideration and adoption.

6. (b) Methodologies for assessing adaptation needs with a view to assisting developing countries, without placing an undue burden on them

Summary outcome
The AC considered the document prepared for the meeting and is invited to send additional comments on the paper, including on the principles and draft recommendations, to the secretariat as soon as possible.
The secretariat, with input from the NAP taskforce, will then further revise the document, also taking into account the previous desk review and use it as background information for the small expert meeting held at the margins of SB 46.
The document will be circulated to the AC one week before the expert meeting. Representatives of the Nairobi work programme, the CGE and the GCF will be invited to the meeting.
The background document will be further refined, taking into account the outcomes of the expert meeting, for consideration at AC 12.

Summary outcome
The AC and the LEG, in collaboration with the SCF, jointly considered draft options on the three mandates and agreed to request the joint working group, with the assistance of the secretariat, to further refine the options, and work towards recommendations for CMA 1, based on the discussions during the joint meeting.
The working group will share the outcomes of its work with the AC, the LEG and the SCF in April. It will then present progress to delegates during a special event at the margins of SB 46 and further revise the document accordingly.
The working group will explore possibilities to meet at the margins of SB 46.

7. Work of the Adaptation Committee’s working group on the Technical Examination Process on Adaptation

Summary outcome
The AC welcomed the progress made by its TEP-A working group, endorsed the draft agenda for the 2017 TEM-As and provided further details to be taken into account in the organization of the meetings. The topic of the 2017 TEM-A will be Integrating climate change adaptation with the Sustainable Development Goals and the Sendai Framework on Disaster Risk Reduction.
It requested the working group to continue supporting the work of the secretariat in organizing the 2017 TEM-As, including by finalizing the guiding questions and identifying further speakers.
The AC considered and endorsed the proposed topics for the TEP-A in 2018 (Adaptation planning for vulnerable groups, communities and ecosystems) and 2019 (Adaptation finance, including the private sector) and agreed to keep the topic for 2020 open.

8. Technical support and guidance to the Parties on adaptation action

8. (a) Adaptation Committee Task Force on National Adaptation Plans
|
Summary outcome
The AC welcomed an oral report on progress made by the NAP taskforce and requested the task force to continue with the implementation of its workplan.
It welcomed the participation of representatives of the GCF and the GEF in AC 11.
It also welcomed the proactive approach by the GCF secretariat during the meeting in initiating expert consultations with the AC on the readiness programme for NAPs and invited the AC and the GCF to continue these consultations.

8. (b) Report on various approaches to adaptation, such as community-based and ecosystem-based adaptation, taking into account livelihoods and economic diversification

Summary outcome
The AC discussed the concept note for the report and provided further guidance on the outline.
It requested the secretariat, with inputs from partner organizations to the Nairobi work programme, to proceed with the preparation of the report.
It agreed to adjust the finalization of the report so to be able to take into account relevant submissions to the Nairobi work programme. A first draft will be considered by AC12, with the report being finalized by AC 13.
The AC further agreed to send more suggestions for relevant case studies to the secretariat.

8. (c) Inventory of on-going work on monitoring and evaluation of adaptation

Summary outcome
The AC took note of a status report on this matter and agreed to continue considerations at AC 13.

9. Technical support and guidance to the Parties on means of implementation

Summary outcome
The AC considered and endorsed the revised concept note and requested the secretariat to continue consulting with the GCF on possible collaboration and dates for the workshop.

Summary outcome
The AC agreed on the next steps as outlined in the document.
It will continue working with the GCF and will also seek more interaction with the Board.
It agreed to include case studies and best practice examples from countries. A revised draft will be prepared by AC 12 and the AC may then consider deriving recommendations to the COP in response to decision 4/CP.21, paragraph 10.
The NAP taskforce will continue reviewing and providing guidance to future drafts.

9. (a) (iii) Possible preparation of an electronic finance bulletin
|
Summary outcome
The AC agreed to prepare a periodic finance bulletin to inform stakeholders of the evolving policies and programmatic priorities of the GCF and other funds.
It will share the outcomes of the discussions with the GCF, GEF, AF, LEG and SCF and invite their collaboration.
The AC requested the secretariat to share the dissemination plan before launching the first issue by the end of June 2017.

9. (b) Contribution of the private sector to adaptation

Summary outcome
The AC considered the initial proposal for developing a comprehensive mapping of relevant private sector stakeholders in the area of climate change adaptation.
It welcomed the contributions by observers and agreed to establish a small working group to which observers will also be invited to contribute.
It further agreed to consider an initial draft at AC12.

10. Awareness-raising, outreach and sharing of information

Summary outcome
The AC agreed to re-establish its working group on the Adaptation Forum to consider modalities, topics and linkages to other organizations for a possible future forum.
The AC agreed to note, in its report to the COP, the fact that there are currently no resources available to organize a forum.

10. (b) Joint in-session event by the Adaptation Committee and the Least Developed Countries Expert Group during the Bonn Climate Conference in May 2017

Summary outcome
The AC and the LEG agreed that the joint event should be held, if logistics allow, in the format of a 3-hour special event.
The AC and the LEG requested the secretariat to confirm the time and date of the event and requested their joint working group to provide guidance to the secretariat in the organization of the event.

Summary outcome
The AC agreed on leads and members of its working groups, as well as on the nominees contributing, upon invitation, in working groups established by other bodies.
