Background: 

This workshop addressed young people who are interested in advancing the energy transition or seek to become involved in this field. In this interactive one-hour session, Dr. BinBin Jiang Pearce, Assistant Professor of Transdisciplinary Design and Implementation, at Delft University of Technology, introduced an innovative methodology from her work on Integrated Systems and Design Thinking, drawing on "A Changemaker's Guide to The Energy Transition" developed under the EU-funded ENCLUDE project. This approach aims to empower citizens to drive change in their own communities by building on their own capabilities and insights.

Objectives: 

Through a series of interactive exercises and a Q&A session, participants could:

• Gain an understanding of the fundamentals of design thinking and its application in systems transformation within the energy sector
• Learn how to effectively approach complex challenges and formulate problem statements
• Develop both self- and collective efficacy in driving meaningful change through the methodology presented

The webinar also represented a unique chance for participants to engage with BinBin to collaborate on applying the methodology in their own communities.
