The need for loss and damage finance in Cambodia
Abstract
The losses and damages in Cambodia are recorded in a database called “Cambodia Disaster Damage & Loss Information System” (CamDi), indicating the losses and damages from different hazards such as flooding, drought, lightning, typhoon, and so on. Flooding alone claimed a total of 1,243 lives and caused damage to 31,810 houses and crops on 2,059,768 hectares during the last 26 years. However, regular updating of statistics or databases on climate-associated loss and damage in Cambodia is quite limited.
