Addressing the challenge and complexity of climate change requires a systems approach that identifies and addresses interlinkages and interdependencies. In the case of climate technology and gender, that means assessing the whole of the technology life-cycle, starting with the human dimension of knowledge and skills for creating and developing technology, through to retail and commercial consumption. This dynamic high level panel will discuss the question ‘how do we ensure that technology development and transfer contributes to gender-responsive climate policy and action?’ from different perspectives.

Moderator: Martin Frick, Senior Director, Policy and Programme Coordination, UN Climate Change Secretariat.

Panel:

  • H.R.H Princess Abze Djigme, Chair, Princess Abze Djigme Foundation, Special Envoy of the President of Burkina Faso, Resource Mobilisation for SDG's and Climate Change;
  • Naina Lal Kidwai, Chairperson, Max Financial Services;
  • Maryam Gamal Abdelaziz, Solar Tendering Engineer, Schneider Electric Egypt;

  • Carol González Aguilar, Women’s Technical Secretariat, COICA (Coordinadora de las Organizaciones Indígenas de la Cuenca Amazónica).
