15. Arrangements for intergovernmental meetings
Abstract

This report summarizes the proposals made by Parties and non-Party stakeholders on
opportunities to further enhance the effective engagement of non-Party stakeholders with a
view to strengthening the implementation of the provisions of decision 1/CP.21 received by
the deadline of 28 February 2017. Topic covered by the proposals include: making maximum
use of the diverse and specialized expertise of non-Party stakeholders; the potential
contribution of non-Party stakeholders to processes and discussions related to strengthening
national action and enhancing ambition; increasing the opportunities to provide substantive
input to Parties and expanding possibilities for input; enhancing practices that facilitate
engagement regarding, for example, admission, registration, access and financial support;
and showcasing climate action in innovative ways, including through platforms, dialogues
and consultations. A number of the proposals highlight examples of non-Party stakeholder
engagement in other intergovernmental processes.
