Abstract

This document provides a summary of the Least Developed Countries Expert Group (LEG) meeting to take stock of the progress made by Parties in the preparation and implementation of national adaptation programmes of action (NAPAs), which was held in Bangkok, Thailand, from 3 to 5 September 2007, as mandated by the Subsidiary Body for Implementation at its twenty-fifth session. Discussions focused on best practices, constraints and barriers related to NAPA preparation and
implementation, support from the Global Environment Facility and its agencies, other United Nations agencies and institutions and integration of NAPAs into national planning. This document also includes a list of possible actions for the LEG and other stakeholders in areas of NAPA development and implementation where participants identified a need for support
