Abstract

The Conference of the Parties (COP), by its decision 1/CP.10, requested the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA) to develop a structured five-year programme of work on the scientific, technical and socio-economic aspects of impacts, vulnerability and adaptation to climate change, which would address the following issues: methodologies, data and modelling; vulnerability assessments; adaptation planning, measures and actions; and integration into sustainable development in the context of the terms of reference of the SBSTA as referred to in Article 9 of the Convention. The COP invited Parties to submit to the secretariat, by 31 March 2005, their views on the work programme and requested the secretariat to compile these views into a miscellaneous document for consideration by the SBSTA at its twenty-second session. The secretariat received 11 such submissions. In accordance with the procedure for miscellaneous documents, these submissions are reproduced in the language in which they were received and without formal editing
