About

The UNFCCC secretariat and the Youth Negotiators Academy is proud to bring you this interactive session, introducing the ETF. The event will showcase Biennial Transparency Report (BTR) experiences from Lebanon, Nepal and Nigeria from a youth perspective, drawing directly from the Youth Negotiators Academy extensive network. The event will close out with a collaborative session where emerging negotiators can engage on the topic.

Objectives

This session aims to:

  • Introduce participants to the Enhanced Transparency Framework (ETF) and its key reporting requirements under the Paris Agreement.

  • Showcase youth perspectives and contributions to climate transparency processes.

  • Share practical experiences and lessons learned from BTR preparation in Lebanon, Nepal, and Nigeria.

  • Identify challenges, opportunities, and capacity-building needs related to national transparency reporting.

  • Encourage collaboration among emerging negotiators and explore how BTR information can better inform climate action.
