What is the Article 6 technical expert review (Article 6 TER) dialogue?

The Article 6 TER dialogue will be held in conjunction with SBI 65 on 13 November 2026. It will enable Parties to engage in informal, peer-to-peer discussions, conducted in a facilitative, non-punitive and non-prescriptive manner, on the implementation of the Article 6 TER process referred to in decision 2/CMA.3, Chapter V (Review) and further elaborated in decision 6/CMA.4, Annex II (Guidelines for the Article 6 technical expert review referred to in decision 2/CMA.3, annex, chapter V (Review)). The dialogue will provide an interactive platform for Parties and observer organizations involved in Article 6 to discuss:

  • recurring themes and lessons learned, including those identified in the compilation and synthesis of the results of Article 6 TERs, for consideration by Parties in accordance with decision 2/CMA.3, paragraph 13;
  • their relevance to the review of the guidance on cooperative approaches referred to in decision 2/CMA.3, paragraphs 14–15.

The dialogue will be open to Parties and observers. Registration is not required.

The draft concept note is now available. Further materials will be posted on this page as they become available.
