Background

The 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 29) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) concluded on 24 November 2024 in Baku, Azerbaijan, marking several landmark decisions to advance global climate action. With significant updates expected on the different processes under the Paris Agreement, such as the extension of the enhanced Lima Work Programme and the adoption of the Baku Workplan of the Local Communities and Indigenous Peoples Platform (LCIPP).
