Since COP 22, a series of events under the patronage of the High-Level Champions and the Marrakech Partnership for Global Climate Action is organized at each COP. The events consist of action thematic events (e.g. transport, energy, human settlements, land use, industry, the ocean, water) and other cross-cutting themes and highlight events with a focus on specific issues or sectors of relevance to the global climate action agenda, such as the Sustainable Development Goals and finance food systems. In addition, this is also the space where the Global Climate Action Awards which are spearheaded by UN Climate Change to shine a light on the enormous groundswell of activities underway across the globe that are moving the world toward a highly resilient, low-carbon future, take place.
