Sub-course 5 covers the technical review of the Land use, land-use change and forestry (LULUCF) sector in the national GHG inventory. In a national GHG inventory, the LULUCF sector covers the GHG emissions by sources and removals by sinks from the use of land and the changes in the use of land in the national territory. This sub-course will provide you with the background material for the technical review of information on carbon stock changes and associated carbon dioxide emissions and removals as well as on methane and nitrous oxide emissions from the LULUCF sector. It will take approximately 1000 minutes for less experienced readers (540 minutes for experienced readers) to complete this sub-course.
